Let’s get started with this week’s topics.

Raptive Wants to Negotiate AI Deals for us?

I was interested to see a notice pop up in my Raptive dashboard this past week. It was a an opt-in consent agreement with some interesting objectives:

It’s all - slowly - starting to come together for creators and publishers. Unfortunately, a little to late for many. THIS is the type of action niche publishers need. Quite frankly, so do the AI platforms.

I’m not sure what this looks like yet. Clearly, niche media doesn’t have the same pull as the New York Times to get juicy licensing deals. BUT, Raptive as a collective group IS a fairly large publisher in aggregate…

Between this development, Perplexity’s nascent publisher incentive program, and Cloudflare’s marketplace approach, I’m going to hang on as long as I can to our high quality publishing assets.

There also may be an opportunity to pick up “down and out” publishers who otherwise have exceptional content. When the tide turns back towards publishers, it may turn FAST.

Matching Tools to Traffic Sources

I am currently knees deep experimenting with all sorts of strategies to generate traffic and found it useful to start matching optimal tools > platforms:

And for repurposing content, I’m loving Castmagic (particularly for audio and video content > other useful forms).

Unique Investment Opportunity: Whiskey Casks

Here’s an investment opportunity you didn’t know you were missing - whiskey casks.

But where to start?

Try Vinovest.

Using GummySearch for Reddit & More

One of the issues with Reddit growing so quickly is the comparative lack of third party software, tools, and infrastructure.

I’m solving part of this problem with our latest agency initiative (ReddVisible), helping brands build community and drive traffic on Reddit.

But analytics and software is a huge gap.

I want to take a stab at software in some way myself, but I’ll admit that GummySearch beat me to it. This is currently the best Reddit intel platform on the market.

Even if you are not interested in marketing directly on Reddit, the platform is a goldmine for insights, from product ideas to trending content or niche product inspiration.

You can also set up custom alerts for new posts with topics (or keywords) that you care about. This is a great way to stay on top of what’s happening in your market, or to jump in quickly to provide an answer (pro tip: first answers tend to drive overall sentiment the most).

I even have it set up to alert our relevant teams via their Slack integration with the latest and greatest opportunities.

Greg Isenberg has an excellent overview of how to use GummySearch to generate ideas:

If you are interested in signing up, I do have an audience specific discount if you use our affiliate link (thank you!) and use code RDT10 at checkout. This entitles you to 10% off all premium plans, in perpetuity.

GummySearch also has a useful free version, in case you want to try it out first.
